Wearing one

Getting started

1. Wear the collar. That is all the setup there is.
There is nothing to claim and no notecard to fill in.

2. Touch the collar to open its menu.
If you would rather not click, type this in local chat:

/1 cc yourusername

Use your own login name (the one you type at the SL
login screen, like jane.doe). That opens the same menu.

3. A brand new collar has no owner. Until someone is
added as an owner, YOU control everything on it,
including the owner list.

Giving someone control

Touch the collar, choose Owner, then Add Owner. You can pick someone standing nearby from a list.

OWNERS can do everything, including locking the collar and adding or removing other owners.

TRUSTEES can use the collar's functions (leash, toy, restrictions) but cannot change the owner list and cannot lock or unlock.

BLACKLISTED avatars are refused everything.

While the collar is UNLOCKED you can remove owners yourself at any time. Once an owner LOCKS it, only an owner can unlock it or change that list. That is the point of the lock, and it is worth understanding before you hand someone the keys.

The safeword

Type this in local chat at any time:

/1 safeword

This releases every RLV restriction and unlocks the collar immediately, no matter who owns it or what is switched on.

Only YOU can trigger your own safeword. Nobody else can use it on you, and no owner can switch it off.

Your owners are told that you used it. That is deliberate: a safeword that fired silently would look to them like the collar had broken.

Restrictions

Restrictions need an RLV capable viewer with RLV or RLVa switched on. Firestorm has this. If your viewer does not, the collar still works as a collar, and the menu will show RLV as "not detected".

Your owner can switch on things like Gag, Teleport block, Flight block, Sit block and Collar lock. The collar tells you in local chat each time one changes.

Furniture and other RLV devices can also ask the collar for control. That is the RLV Relay, and it has three modes: Off, Ask, and Auto. Ask means you get a question each time something new tries.

None of this can happen without your viewer's consent. RLV is something your viewer chooses to obey, and the safeword above always ends it.

Owning a pet

The two pieces

THE COLLAR is worn by your pet. They need one each.

THE OWNER HUD is worn by YOU. It is free, it is not part of the collar, and one HUD controls every pet you own. Wear it and it lists them.

If you have been given a collar to look after but no HUD, ask Cursery for one, or pick it up wherever you found the collar.

Becoming an owner

A new collar starts with no owner at all. Its wearer adds you.

Ask them to touch their collar, choose Owner, then Add Owner, and pick you from the nearby list.

Once you are on that list you can:

LOCK the collar, which stops the wearer removing it
or changing the owner list

LEASH them, with an adjustable length

Set RESTRICTIONS such as Gag, Teleport block, Flight
block and Sit block

Change the TITLER, the floating text over their head

Control a paired LOVENSE toy

Send them HOME or force a teleport to you

You may add TRUSTEES. They can use the collar's functions but cannot lock it or touch the owner list. Use them for people you want to have fun with, not people you want holding the keys.

Using the hud

Wear the HUD and click the small icon to open the panel. Click it again to close it.

Pick a pet from the dropdown at the top. Everything below then applies to that pet.

COLLAR tab: lock state, leash, in world menu, force teleport, the titler, and the full restriction grid.

TOY tab: vibration, patterns, and the advanced functions for toys that have them.

Sections with a plus sign expand. Tap a restriction to switch it on or off. The button lights up straight away, and settles to whatever the collar actually reports a moment later.

FORGET THIS PET removes a collar from your list. It does not touch the collar itself. If the pet is still wearing it, it will reappear within about 20 seconds. Use it to clear out old entries.

Controlling from anywhere

You do not have to be in Second Life at all.

In the HUD, press WEB DASHBOARD. The collar sends you a six digit code in chat, along with your username.

Go to:

cursecollar.com/app

Enter that username and code. The code works once and expires after ten minutes.

You now have the same controls in an ordinary web page, including on a phone. It stays signed in for 24 hours of inactivity, so day to day use will not ask again.

You can also point it at a Discord channel. In the dashboard, paste a Discord webhook URL and every action on the collar is posted there. Owner only.

Locking, and what it means

An UNLOCKED collar can be removed by its wearer, and they can remove you as owner whenever they like.

A LOCKED collar cannot. Only an owner can unlock it or change who owns it.

The wearer always keeps their safeword. Typing "/1 safeword" releases every restriction and unlocks the collar, and you will be told when it happens. This cannot be disabled, and that is on purpose. Nobody sensible plays without one.

Lovense setup

What this is

The collar can drive a Lovense toy. Once paired, the wearer's owner can set it going from the collar menu, from the Owner HUD, or from the web dashboard, whether or not either person is standing nearby.

You do NOT need a Lovense developer account, an API key, or any setup outside Second Life. Cursery handles all of that. Pairing is four taps in the collar menu.

Before you start

You need:

A Lovense toy, charged and switched on

The Lovense Remote app on your phone or computer,
with the toy connected to it in the usual way

The toy showing as connected in the app BEFORE you
begin pairing here

If the toy is not connected in the Lovense app first, pairing will not find it.

Pairing, step by step

1. Touch the collar and choose TOY.

2. Choose PAIR.
The collar says "Requesting a pairing code..." and
then gives you a short code in local chat.

3. Enter that code in the Lovense Remote app, in its
section for connecting to a game or a third party
site. The app will confirm it accepted the code.

4. Back in the collar, choose TOY, then CONFIRM
PAIRING.
The collar checks the link by sending a harmless
stop command to the toy, and replies "Lovense
pairing confirmed."

That is the whole process, and it only has to be done once. The collar remembers.

You can check at any time: the Toy row in the Owner HUD and the dashboard reads "paired" or "unpaired".

What your owner can send

VIBRATE
Intensity 0 to 20, for a set number of seconds.

PATTERNS
Pulse, Wave, Fireworks, Earthquake.

ADVANCED FUNCTIONS
These only do something if your toy actually has that
kind of motor. Sending one to a toy without it is
harmless and simply does nothing.

Rotate 0 to 20 for example, Nora
Pump 0 to 3 for example, Max
Thrusting 0 to 20 for example, Solace
Suction 0 to 20 for example, Gush

The collar shows the same reminder next to each one
when you use it, so there is nothing to memorise.

Anything running stops on its own after its set time. There is also a STOP control, and the Vibrate and Send buttons in the HUD turn into Stop while something is running.

Privacy and control

Only your owners and trustees can send toy commands. The collar checks who is asking before anything is sent, exactly as it does for every other function.

Pairing is between your Lovense account and the toy. Cursery never sees your Lovense login.

Unpair at any time by disconnecting the collar from within the Lovense Remote app.

The safeword ("/1 safeword" in local chat) releases RLV restrictions and unlocks the collar. It does not stop a toy that is mid pattern. Use the Stop control for that, or switch the toy off. Worth knowing before you need it.

If something is not working

"not paired - use Toy -> Pair first"
The collar has no pairing stored. Run the four steps
above.

Pairing code is refused by the app
Codes do not last forever. Ask the collar for a fresh
one with Toy, then Pair, and enter the new code
promptly.

Paired, but nothing happens
Check the toy is still connected in the Lovense
Remote app and has charge. The collar can only reach
a toy the app can reach.

Only some functions work
That is normal. Most toys have one or two motors. A
toy with no rotating motor will ignore Rotate, and so
on down the list.

Commands work nearby but not from far away
Toy control goes through the Cursery relay rather
than through Second Life, so distance makes no
difference. If it works in one place and not another,
it is more likely the toy or the app dropped its
connection.

Still stuck, contact Cursery in world.

FAQ

Wearing one

Do I need the HUD?

No. The HUD is for OWNERS, and it is free for them. You only need the collar itself.

Can I take the collar off?

While it is unlocked, yes, always. While it is locked, that is what your owner has switched on, and the safeword will release it.

My collar has no owner and refuses nothing. Is it broken?

No. An unowned collar answers to you as if you owned it. It starts working as a collar the moment somebody else is added.

I wore a copy of my collar and it forgot everything.

That is intended. Each collar is its own separate thing, so a copy does not inherit the previous owners or settings. This is also what stops a collar arriving with someone else's restrictions on it.

Can I use my own collar mesh instead?

Yes, if you have the invisible version. Wear that with whatever collar you already like the look of.

What does my owner see?

Whether the collar is locked, leashed, whether a toy is paired, whether your viewer supports RLV, and any restrictions currently on. They can also see a list of recent actions.

Does the collar keep working if the Cursery server goes down?

Yes. Lock, leash, restrictions, the titler, poses, outfit lock and furniture support are all handled inside the collar and need no connection at all. Only remote control from a distance and the Lovense features use the server.

Something is not working.

Touch the collar, then Access, and check the menu is answering you at all. If your viewer has RLV switched off, restrictions will silently do nothing and the menu will say "not detected". If you are still stuck, contact Cursery in world.

Owning a pet

How many pets can one HUD handle?

Ten collars are shown at once, newest first.

My pet is offline. Can I still send commands?

The command is stored and delivered when their collar next checks in. Anything they are not currently wearing will not act on it.

Two pets show with the same name.

The HUD adds a short code to tell them apart. That normally means one avatar is wearing two collars.

A pet is listed but marked offline and I know they are online.

A collar is marked offline after 90 seconds without contact. Ask them to detach and reattach it.

I pressed a restriction and nothing happened.

Check the RLV row in the status grid. If it says "not detected", their viewer does not have RLV switched on and no restriction can work.

Can I stop my pet removing me as owner?

Lock the collar. That is exactly what the lock is for. Being listed as owner is not enough on its own.

Can trustees add other people?

No. Only owners can change the owner or trustee list.

I own several pets. Do they see each other?

No. Each collar only knows about itself.

Does any of this work if the Cursery server is down?

The collar keeps working on its own: lock, leash, restrictions, titler, poses and furniture support are all handled inside it. Remote control from the HUD or the dashboard, and the Lovense features, need the server.

Something is not working.

Detach and reattach the HUD first, which refreshes its connection. If a pet is missing from the list, have them reattach their collar. Still stuck, please contact Cursery in world.
